Axis Electronics MD takes the helm of UK trade association

9th May 2008

Phil Inness, managing director of Bedford based Axis Electronics, an independent contract electronic manufacturing services provider, has been made group chair of the Electronic Manufacturers Services Association (EMSA).

EMSA is part of Intellect, the national trade association for the UK technology industries.

The group aims to raise the profile of contract electronic manufacturing with policy makers, to source funding for training services and to help companies to take advantage of R&D tax credits as well as the development of a market trend discussion forum.

Phil Inness comments: “The contract electronic manufacturing sector in the UK is an important one with world-class standards. Intellect’s EMSA group has an important role to play in developing the sector and I am delighted to be part of it. Over the next couple of years, we plan to run a programme that will provide practical help to manufacturers to improve their businesses and grow the sector in the UK. It is vital that we engage with all UK contract manufacturing companies to maximise the value and impact of our activities.”
