Bedford offers an extensive choice of residential high quality housing, from exclusive executive homes to rural village settings, modern housing developments and traditional Victorian terraces. House prices are favourably comparable with much of the South East and the quantity of housing is set to expand, with 16,000 new homes anticipated by 2016.

Bedford has 59,601 households of which 72.4% of these are owner-occupier. A detached property in Bedford costs an average of £297,053 with a semi detached costing £185,705.
