Bedford is rapidly increasing in size and population and this creates a greater responsibility to ensure the town develops to ensure that local businesses continue to prosper.
To achieve this continued prosperity, Bedford Borough Council is pursuing a number of initiatives, specifically a Sport and Health Enterprise Hub, aimed at stimulating business growth (and survival) and job creation as well as the development of new Town Centre plans and greater consideration given to its infrastructure.
Changing Places consolidates a wide range of existing local economic initiatives by setting out a strategy to achieve a step-change in economic performance and a proactive approach to economic growth that works across administrative boundaries. From the outset, the key stakeholders were involved in the work and as a result Changing Places also provides a programme for multi-agency cooperation in the provision of services and facilities.
